How we work out the estimate

The estimate starts from typical price ranges for each venue type in the Norwegian rental market, then adjusts them by a few clearly stated factors. We always give a range rather than an exact price, because the real price depends on the particular venue.

  • Venue type and size matter most. A community hall costs a fraction of a central function room.
  • City and area: central Oslo and the larger cities sit higher; smaller places are cheaper.
  • Day of the week: Saturdays are the most sought-after and the most expensive; weekdays are cheaper and more available.
  • Season: May to September is high season for weddings and parties.

Remember that additional services — cleaning, staffing, AV equipment, catering and a deposit — usually come on top of the base rent. On Digilist these appear as separate lines, so you see the final total before you confirm.

Ofte stilte spørsmål

What does it cost to rent a venue?
The price varies a great deal with venue type, location, capacity, day of the week and season. As rough guides, community halls are often NOK 1,000–5,000 per day, function and party venues NOK 5,000–30,000, meeting rooms from a few hundred kroner, and cultural venues and large halls higher. This calculator gives an estimated range based on those guides — the actual price is shown on each individual venue.
Is the estimate a binding quote?
No. The calculator gives an indicative price range to help you budget. The actual price is set by each operator and depends on the venue, the timing and any additional services. On Digilist you see the total price for your date, including any deposit, before you book.
What affects the price most?
Venue type and size matter most, then location (central areas of the largest cities are the most expensive), day of the week (Saturdays in high season cost the most) and season (May to September is high season for parties and weddings). Additional services such as cleaning, staffing, AV equipment and catering usually come on top of the base rent.
Can I rent both private and municipal venues?
Yes. Many community halls, cultural venues and municipal premises are rented out for private events, often more cheaply than dedicated function rooms. On Digilist, private and municipal venues sit in the same calendar, so you can compare price and availability in one place.
PILOT FOR NORWEGIAN MUNICIPALITIES

An invitation to Norwegian municipalities.

Digilist is a modern, accessible platform for managing municipal venues, sports facilities, meeting rooms and events — and for making them visible to the people who want to use them.

We are inviting municipalities to join a pilot, where we help make municipal venues and activities more available, simpler to administer, and easier for residents, clubs, organisations and event organisers to find.

The aim is not to replace existing systems or ways of working, but to explore how Digilist can work as a modern complement for residents and for the administration.

We help with setup and publishing at no cost during the pilot. The municipality gets its own administrative access to carry on from there.
